Adventures in crafting!

Dont ask me why, but this holiday season I was hit by the Christmas crafting bug, and HARD. It has really helped me get into the holiday spirit since I love to craft!! And trust me, I needed something to help me through this Christmas since it is the first one since my brother died. I could just sit and cry myself into a hole and be angry and feel picked on that he's not here (and I am to an extent) but Im choosing to get through it differently. Im usually a huge scrooge and whole-heartedly dislike Christmas but this year has been different. Dont ask me why!
Here are some pictures of the crafts Ive done so far:

These both hang from ribbon on the wall:

This is a terrible picture, but its a home-made snowglobe made from a recycled baby food jar

These are carolers made from paper tubes, but they dont have their hats on yet lol. I need to find some colored kids socks to make their hats and all my kids' socks are white and purple.

Magnets with the kids' pictures. These are for the grandparents

The finished product: These are metal sheets with decorative paper mod-podged on and the letters are rub-ons. The fake diamond accents are stickers. There is one magnet at the bottom that is different, I glued a picture onto the flat bottom of a large glass "marble", sold at craft stores. Voila!

Winter concert at Lind High School

Today was the preschool-6th grade choir/band concert held at Lind High school. It was adorable, if you could stand listening to the band screech out "jingle bells" and look past the kids singing WAAAAAY off from their chosen music tracks. It was so sweet, seeing all those kids up there, dressed up and singing their little hearts out. It made me sad to think that just a few short years ago, Abby was one of them. Now she's 13 and so grown up. She spent most of tonight hanging out in the halls with the kids in her classes that were there.
Anyhoo, it was wonderful and I loved seeing my kids up there. Putting them into public school this year has been the right decision for so many reasons. This was just one of them.
